There is something for everyone at the Founders' Day Festival.

Whether you're young or young at heart, a history buff, a music lover, or like to browse through a maze of arts and crafts vendors, there is something for everyone planned for the year's Ocoee Founders' Day Festival.

The first event to take place at the Founders' Day Festival will be the City of Ocoee Founders’ Day, Louis Fazio, Jr. 5K Walk and Run . For serious runners as well as those just starting. There is also a separate category for walkers and those in wheelchairs. The race takes place on Saturday, October 18, 2008.

There are lots of historical exhibits planned as well. The Withers-Maguire House and Museum and Ocoee Christian Church both on the National Register of Historical Places will be open to the public for tours. The Woman's Club of Ocoee will have historical memorabilia on display

Founders' Day would not be complete without rides! And there will be plenty this year. For the more adventurous, the ever-popular rock climbers' wall, gyro, and trampoline will be back. And for the youngsters, be ready to see their faces light up as they enter the monster truck moon walk, and barrel of fun. We've added an airplane ride, car ride, and swings this year and the famous trackless train will be back to take toddlers for a ride they are sure to enjoy!

You will also want to reserve plenty of time to wander through the booths on the lawn of the Withers-Maguire House. It is a great place to do some early Christmas shopping and see some really unique arts and crafts.
And set aside your dieting plans for the weekend because you'll want to sample lots of great food and all those wonderful treats the festival has to offer.
