Lee Brice (Friday Nov 2nd)
Lee Brice is a man whose time has come. On his stunning sophomore album, Hard 2 Love (Curb Records), the four-time Academy of Country Music nominee demonstrates a new maturity and patience, both in his songwriting and vocals.
"I made my first album, Love Like Crazy, over six
years," explains the South Carolina native, lifting his
trademark turned-around ball cap and rubbing his
forehead. "It didn't feel like a cohesive record, but
more like a lot of different songs. And six years later,
I've grown as an artist and a writer.
"Everything on the new album is very pertinent to who I
am right now and where I am in my life. I have some very
personal stuff on there, and I had to be really honest
with it. Hopefully, folks will see that."
Chris Cagle (Saturday Nov 3rd)
Ask Chris Cagle what's most important to him and you can bet he'll answer this way: "Family, ranch, music. ' This response is seemingly simple for a man whose professional credits include two gold albums, two No. 1 albums and 12 charted songs. From 2000-2008, Cagle released an almost nonstop catalog of hits that resulted in a scorching hot career. Cagle's personal perspective has mellowed. 2012's forthcoming album is, in more ways than one, a new lease on life. Born in DeRidder, La., and raised "all over," Chris set off for Nashville after trying his hand at college in Texas and finding and finding the pull to pursue music too strong to ignore. Like many young artists, he spent several years working odd jobs in Nashville and scraping up enough cash to record four original songs for a demo tape. Thanks to a couple of chance meetings and the opportunity to be heard by Scott Hendricks, Chris was signed to Virgin Records in 2000 -- that first album featured the unaltered version of his demo songs. Chris quickly learned critial and commerical success and attraced a legion of fans that includded industry heavyweights and country fans alike. Cagle's first number one smash, "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out," remains a fan favorite.
Easton Corbin (Saturday Nov 3rd)
Easton Corbin knew he wanted to be a country singer well before he learned how to play guitar. “One of my earliest memories is from when I was three or four,” he remembers. “I was sitting between my parents in the car and a song came on the radio—it was Mel McDaniel’s ‘Baby’s Got Her Blue Jeans On’. I began using the gearshift as my microphone. The desire has always been there.” Born and raised in rural Gilchrist County, Fla., Easton spent much of his time on his grandparent’s cattle farm after his parents divorced when he was young. “I lived a mile from the Suwannee River,” he says. “I grew up fishing on it and I loved to work on the farm. Every weekend, that’s where I’d be.”
Tyler Farr (Friday Nov 2nd)
Tyler Farr was born and raised in the small town of Garden City, Missouri. The singer was first introduced to country music at age 16, when he spent a summer on the road with his stepfather, who played lead guitar for country icon George Jones. Farr grew to love country music, and he decided to make the move to Nashville to pursue a career as an artist. He landed a job working as a bouncer at the legendary Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge for five months until he was able to convince the management to let him sing. For the next few years, he would play the Tootsie’s stage four nights a week, in addition to working security at the door. An avid outdoorsman, Farr found a friend in award-winning songwriter and fellow outdoorsman, Rhett Akins. Rhett had heard some of Farr’s music, and he wanted to work with him. After writing with some of the best songwriters in Nashville, Farr eventually landed a publishing deal with Sony ATV/Monument Publishing, and it was that connection that ultimately helped him land his recording contract on Sony Music Nashville’s BNA Records. In addition to recording and songwriting, Farr has toured extensively with Colt Ford, for whom Tyler wrote the song, “Hey Y’all,” as well as opening for Jerrod Niemann and Lee Brice in early 2011 on The Higher Education Tour. Tyler’s four-song digital album, Camouflage – EP, is available now.
LoCash Cowboys (Saturday Nov 3rd)
LoCash Cowboys are Chris Lucas and Preston Brust, who combine soul, rock, funk, pop, hip-hop, and gospel in a high-energy version of contemporary country. Lucas was born and raised outside Baltimore, Maryland, while Brust was born in Dermott, Arkansas but grew up in Kokomo, Indiana. The two met after both moved to Nashville to pursue musical careers and quickly discovered a shared vision of bringing the dance moves and energy of R&B and hip-hop into the realm of country. The duo's passionate and fun stage performances soon earned them fans and industry attention. A self-released album, LoCash Cowboys, appeared in 2008, after which the duo signed with Stroudavarious Records. A debut single on the label, "Here Comes Summer," came out in 2010, and helped by a striking video directed by Brian Lazzaro, the song acted as a calling card for the Cowboys. A second single, "Keep in Mind," was released the same year, with a full-length album, This Is How We Do It, arriving in 2011.
Marty Stuart (Friday Nov 2nd)
Marty Stuart was born to make music. Hailing from Philadelphia, Mississippi, he is a self-taught guitar and mandolin player, and by the age of 12 he was playing professionally with The Sullivan Family. In 1972, at 14, he joined Lester Flatt's band and stayed with them until Flatt's retirement in 1978. Stuart joined Johnny Cash's backup band in 1980. He remained with Cash until 1985 (and later married Cash daughter Cindy, a union which ended in divorce), then signed with Columbia records and released his self-titled debut in 1986. Although it contained a top-20 hit, Marty Stuart sold poorly and Columbia dropped the promising Stuart. He signed with MCA and released Hillbilly Rock, which blasted him into the legends of neo-traditionalists who emerged from the late '80s, and his legendary status was assured. He remained a steady hit- maker into the 90's, when his songs stopped charting and he stopped getting regular airplay due to his steadfast determination to retain a solid traditional edge to his hard-lined honky-tonk rockabilly. In recent years Stuart has been a regular at the Opry (his Nudie suit collection is legendary), president of the Country Music Foundation, and started up his own label, Superlatone Records.

Spayed Koolie (Saturday Nov 3rd)
Sometimes stardom and tragedy go hand
in hand. If both must be included in a formula for success,
then Spade Cooley may have been the most successful of them
all. Spade was a 40's era pioneer of western swing and
spaghetti westerns who conquered the country music industry
along with Hollywood costarring with notable icons such as
Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. His career was at its zenith when
his descent into a jealous alcohol fueled freefall resulted
in the shocking murder of his then wife Ella Mae
Evans. Convinced that she was cheating on him with Rogers,
he murdered her in an unfathomable act of brutality. Cooley
was serving his 8th year prison sentence before performing
at a benefit when he died from a heart attack immediately
following the show.
Spayed Koolie is the
musical project created by David Dorr. The band is comprised
of several handpicked prodigies by David himself to
collectively convey the melodies that he has extracted from
the depths of the human soul. The music finds redemption
mixed with, sorrow and anger, blended smooth like a warm
glass of Calvados Brandy with a slight hint of American
blues in the aftertaste. The songs rich with musical
vibrance, emanate the sounds of rock and roll through edgy
guitar riffs, eclectic bass runs and classical piano
tones. Like Cooley himself, David has in a similar fashion
visited the depths of emptiness, brought forth from
personal demons and toxic relationships, some resulting from
fate's cruel timing, and others a shameful product of
himself.
Spayed Koolie is not a repackaged radio friendly product of the industries cookie cutter that taste’s like the same bowl of bland health cereal you eat every morning. It's the guilt you feel from the greasy bacon and eggs that you secretly indulge in before kissing your mistress the morning after in a seedy hotel. Spayed Koolie divulges a man's life experiences, and honest recollection of a past re lived, and a present still living with imperfections and vulnerability. The music of Spayed Koolie is a vivid, unpredictable ride along the wavelength of life's soundtrack.
Patrick Gibson (Saturday Nov 3rd)
West Orange County Florida brought you a country music great
such as John Anderson who's songs consist of Swingin',
Seminole Wind, and Wild and Blue. In addition to this, on
July 17 , 1982, another amazing artist was born into the
same town, Patrick Gibson. A true native of the southern
heritage, he followed the likeness of country music. Life
not being so easy growing up, Patrick new it was up to
him to make a difference for himself and his siblings. After
the death of his grandfather, he was lost. an attempt to end
his pain, luckily was not successful. That allowed him to
forward his footsteps and eventually meet the love of his
life, whom he found a second life with in!
His eyes were opened to his talents after writing his first
piece and being recognized by those around him as a talented
individual. It was in 2005 when he took off to Nashville to
complete his first demo CD titled Florida. A 12 song album
which consisted of 7 original songs. Returning to FL in
2006, Patrick knew what he had to do, make music and touch
lives. He became an almost overnight success in his home
grounds of central Florida, making headlines in local
papers, opening up for majors and for writing songs with
such emotion. For more information, visit
